Roman CellarThe Roman Cellar Restaurant is run in Hévíz, this Western Transdanubian little town, well-known for its world-famous medicinal lake, serenity and homely feel. |
It is located app. 1.5 km away from the centre in Egregy, the spa town’s district with a special image and rustic atmosphere, where a nice walk always means pleasure for the guests here. Besides the guest-attracting wine cellars and rows of vines a church from the Árpád-age, built in the 13th century, the nicest Romanesque rural small church placed in the landscape, is located here as well. Very significant relics from the Roman age (a Roman villa with corridor, the tomb of the Roman soldier) can be found in Hévíz-Egregy, and the tradition of viniculture also goes back to these times.
Just like the residents of nowadays, people once living here also loved the luscious, tasty Hungarian dishes, the delicious wines and the beauty of the serene Pannonian landscape.
This atmosphere awaits our guests in our restaurant. In summer You can enjoy the harmony of the flavoursome dishes and the light, fruity wines in our garden area with a marvellous panorama.
In winter we offer, for instance, traditional Hungarian dishes in our vaulted cellar radiating an ancient feel, as well as Hungarian wines of excellent quality from the country’s most significant wineries. Our restaurant for about 60 persons welcomes company programmes, family and social gatherings as well.
